Your Business Profile, Badges, and Reviews
Your Business Profile is what landlords see when they consider you for a job — services, service area, rate, and credentials. This article also covers your two badges and how reviews work after a completed job.
Available for Jobs
A toggle at the top of Business Profile pauses or resumes new work. Turning it off stops new requests from appearing on Available Jobs — jobs you are already assigned to are not affected. Turn it back on any time to start quoting again.
Business information
- Business logo — JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF up to 5MB, shown across your public and marketplace profiles
- Business Name (required)
- Bio / About You — up to 500 characters describing your experience and certifications
- Hourly Rate (optional) — shown to help landlords estimate cost
Service categories and area
Select every trade you offer — plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, landscaping, general maintenance, painting, flooring, roofing, or pest control. At least one is required, and this list is what filters Available Jobs to your trades.
City, state, and zip code define your business location; a service radius (10, 25, 50, or 100 miles) then filters Available Jobs to requests within that distance. Set a zip so distance matching works — without one, every job in your categories stays listed regardless of distance.
Credentials
License number and insurance/policy number are optional but build trust with landlords reviewing your profile.
Your two badges
Business Profile can show up to two separate badges, and they mean different things:
- Verified Vendor — your identity has been verified (Trust Badge). See Verifying Your Identity and Understanding the Trust Badge.
- Background checked — set by VerticalRent after an internal review, not a self-serve product. It is not a criminal-background report you can order, and it is separate from identity (Didit) verification.
Business Profile vs. your marketplace public profile
Reviews
Landlords can rate a job 1–5 stars with an optional comment after you mark it complete. Your Reviews page shows your average rating and every review, most recent first, with the job title and property location.
Each review without a response shows a form where you can post one public reply — once submitted, your response is shown instead of the form and cannot be edited or replied to again for that review.
