Verifying Your Identity and Understanding the Trust Badge

Identity verification unlocks your Trust Badge and lets you accept jobs. Quoting, invoicing, and browsing Available Jobs all work before you verify.

What requires verification — and what does not

• Requires verification: accepting an assigned job. The Accept button on a job's detail page is replaced with Verify / Platinum buttons until you are ID-verified.
• Does not require verification: submitting a quote on Available Jobs, editing your Business Profile, downloading invoices, and messaging landlords or tenants.

Two ways to verify

• Verify for $5 once — a one-time payment. Your Trust Badge activates after verification succeeds and stays active permanently. This does not include any other Platinum perk.
• Platinum — $5/month — includes identity verification (finish the scan once — it is not charged again) plus first look at matched jobs on Available Jobs. The 3% platform fee on completed jobs is the same either way.

How the scan works

Verification is handled by Didit, VerticalRent's identity verification partner:

1. Open your phone camera and point it at the QR code shown on screen (or continue directly if you opened the page on your phone).
2. Follow the prompts to scan a government ID — driver's license, passport, state ID, or national ID from 220+ countries, and it must not be expired.
3. Take a live selfie so Didit can match your face to the ID and check for spoofing.
4. Return to VerticalRent and click I Completed Verification — Check My Status to refresh.

The whole process takes about 2 minutes, and results are usually instant. VerticalRent never sees or stores your ID photos — Didit encrypts and processes them.

After you are verified

Your account settings show Identity Verified with a Trust Badge date, and your Business Profile shows a Verified Vendor badge. Verification is a one-time process — you do not need to repeat it unless suspicious activity is detected on your account.
